Who Says Mother’s Day Isn’t for Pet Moms, Too?
As far as unconditional love, compassion, and dedication go, pet moms are pretty hard to beat. They don’t raise a fuss if Fluffy’s got a hairball at 3 a.m. or feel slighted when Fido needs a foxtail removed. At the end of the day, if their fur babies are safe, healthy, and happy, pet moms can enjoy the sleep of the truly satisfied, hard-working, and devoted.
For these reasons (and many more!), we think it’s high time that all pet moms join the ranks of other matriarchs this – and every – Mother’s Day.
Gifts That Keep Giving
One of the best things about pet moms (beyond their undying love and appreciation for animals) is that they’re easy to shop for. When you know her favorite species, breed, or pet-centric activity, shopping is a breeze.
To be sure, there are infinite gift options for pet moms. However, if you need a little help, may we suggest:
- A professional pet photography session
- Printing out her favorite pet photo and framing it in a frame specific to her pet
- Any decorative linens or items that show a likeness to her fur baby (e.g., throw blankets, tea towels, pillows, curtains, bookends)
- Jewelry or keychains that offer breed-specific charms or pendants
- A card “from the pet”
Event Planning for Pet Moms
Experience-based gifts are also fantastic for pet moms:
- Take her out to any of San Antonio’s pet-friendly restaurants.
- Give her a gift certificate for a pet grooming session or wellness exam.
- Take her and her pet (if able and willing) on a nice spring walk through our city’s finer neighborhoods.
- Join her at her favorite dog park (and offer to pick up after her dog!).
- Put together a picnic of scrumptious foods and drinks and head to the park with her and her dog. Get ready for the sweetest game of fetch!
Nurturing Comes so Easily
Caring for a dependent animal is one of the greatest contributions pet moms make to the communities in which they live. Being a responsible pet owner doesn’t come naturally to everyone, but tried and true pet moms take it to a whole new level. Perhaps the woman in your life recently lost a pet or is looking to add another four-legged friend to the fold. Either way, pet adoption may very well be an option this Mother’s Day.
Happy Mother’s Day!
From all of us at Leon Valley Veterinary Hospital, we wish all the lovely pet moms out there a wonderful Mother’s Day!
